I began my career in HIV/AIDS fundraising as the epidemic continued to ravage underserved communities. For over 12 years, I worked with -- and learned from -- a team of seasoned experts that created dozens of highly successful grassroots campaigns and events, while winning millions of dollars in corporate grants. I rose through the ranks from executive assistant to communications director, overseeing four to five messaging campaigns per year.
I have had the privilege of helping to promote and fundraise for a variety of other causes over the years, including LGBTQ equality, animal rights, healthcare, and justice reform. Through it all, I learned the incredible power of storytelling, and had the transformative experience of seeing the funds we helped raise help people in need.
